Another area shows eosinophilic neuronal necrosis involving Purkinje cells and early PMN infiltration (arrowhead). (H&E) ---- I think that this case illustrates early reaction to ischemia before shut down of perfusion of the tonsils, i.e., not the result of 5 days of infarct resolution. Other explanations are, however, possible.
