4A3,4 The cerebellum and brainstem also show the appearance of diffuse autolysis. It is difficult to confidently identify Duret hemorrhages in the brainstem, probably due to the rapid brain swelling and diffuse occlusion of the intracranial anterior and posterior arterial vasculature at the cranial brim.
