(H&E) ---- The major finding in this case was multifocal microscopic and macroscopic parenchymal hemorrhages associated with platelet and fibrin occlusions resulting in ischemia. The processes contributing to hemorrhage in this patient include DIC based on the appearance of lesions, diffuse involvement of the systemic microvascularity, thrombocytopenia and coagulopathy.
