Vasculature – Latex Injection ---- The specimen was prepared by injection of latex dyes into the fresh brain prior to formalin fixation. Blue latex dye was injected into the right middle cerebral artery (MCA) distal to the origin of the right anterior cerebral artery (ACA) until the small vessels over the lateral surface of the right cerebral hemisphere were well filled. Yellow dye has been injected into the right anterior cerebral artery until the dye appeared in the parasagittal aspect of the dorsal surface of the cerebral hemispheres. The vertebral arteries were cross clamped and the basilar artery injected with red latex dye filling the PCA bilaterally and vasculature to the cerebellum and brainstem.
