Coronal section at the level of the basal ganglia shows the mesial aspect of the frontal lobe and the extent of involvement of the convexity. There is loss of MCA label at the watershed (arrowhead) but it is difficult to see the yellow dye of the ACA superimposed on the yellow-tan color of the fixed cortex. Notice the caudate and putamen show the lenticulostriate penetrating vessels.
